Fake Answer is the party game where being wrong convincingly beats being right. An obscure question comes up — the sort nobody actually knows — and instead of answering it, everyone writes an answer designed to fool the rest of the room.
Then all the lies go up on screen with the real answer quietly mixed in among them, and everyone votes for the one they think is true. You score for finding the truth, and you score every time someone falls for yours. The best rounds are the ones where the real answer looks like the most obvious lie in the list.
How to play Fake Answer
- 1Create a room and share the code with 2 to 9 friends.
- 2A question appears that almost nobody will know the answer to.
- 3Everyone secretly types a fake answer, written to sound as believable as possible.
- 4All the fakes are shuffled together with the real answer and shown to the room.
- 5Vote for the one you think is genuine — you cannot vote for your own.
- 6Score 10 for finding the truth, and 5 for every player your lie caught.
Fake Answer FAQ
What happens if I accidentally write the real answer?+
The game hands it straight back and asks you to write something else — otherwise the true answer would appear twice and the vote would make no sense. You will know you were right, which is its own kind of win.
What if two of us write the same lie?+
They merge into a single option on the ballot, and both of you get paid for everyone it fools.
How many players do you need?+
Three at minimum, and it gets better with every extra person — more players means more lies to hide the truth behind. It caps at ten.
Is this the same as Psych or Fibbage?+
It is the same idea — invent a fake answer, spot the real one — built to run free in a browser with nothing to install and no console needed.
Where do the questions come from?+
Curated content packs the host picks before starting. There is a Weird But True set and a Desi Edition of India-flavoured questions, and the host can select both to mix them.
Can the host remove an answer someone wrote?+
Yes. The host gets a "Hide an answer" control during the vote, because a word filter catches language but not judgement.
